I have known Averil for around ten years, having first met her when I was a participant on the Solace Springboard Programme, where she was the programme sponsor. Since then, we have kept in touch and I have been delighted to call on her expertise through Avie Consultancy Ltd to support the development of senior leaders within my teams.

 Averil co-designed and delivered a modular programme for 25 Senior Leaders and following the success of this led the delivery of a bespoke development programme for 60 middle managers.

What appealed to us was the combination of Averil’s extensive senior leadership experience gained in District Councils very similar to NFDC plus her passion for co-designing bespoke programmes aimed at unlocking the potential of individuals to work corporately and collaboratively. 

Through the implementation of the Solace 360 tool, Averil was able to deliver 1-2-1 feedback to all senior leaders using a coaching style to encourage them to identify strengths and areas for improvement.  This was really valued by the leadership team and quickly built up a strong relationship with the team that enabled challenge alongside development.

I have also worked closely with Averil to support my Executive Management Team. She has facilitated development days that are responsive to our needs and have brought us together as a new team. Averil has really got to know us as a council and has helped us ensure that wider leadership across the council is ready for the opportunities and challenges ahead.

I have recently co-delivered a personal development event for a large group of Directors in the non-for-profit sector with Averil.

It was the first time we worked together and it was a brilliant experience. There was trust, confidence and some good joint exchange of ideas, experiences and tools in what was a great session.
